Free Antivirus for Windows 2003 Server?

Does anyone know of a good antivirus for Windows 2003 Server edition? I have a computer in my apt running Win2K3 as a file/print server but can't seem to find a antivirus for it. Normally, I use AVG but its free version doesn't include Win2k3. Right, now I have Clamwin running on it and it seems like it can find viruses but not delete them like most antiviruses can.

Even if it doesn't delete it, it might put in a "VAULT" and protect ur server.

Is "AVG Free" really a good antivirus software?

I'd like to know if AVG Free really is a good antivirus software, or do you know any better free antivirus software(s) out there? What are your experiences with AVG Free or with the free "Antivir" from Germany or with "AVAST Free"??? What is your view %26 opinion?

AVG is totally worthless. It is junk. I recommend active virus shield. It is by far the best free antivirus you can have.
AVG is okay but not the best.

I would recommend either Symantec/Norton or McAfee (but they're not free) if you really want something free AVG is fine
Yes it is. The editors of PC Magazine have rated it right up there beside McAfee, Norton and other leading commercial brand software.
I've been using AVG for a fair while now and I have never had any problems with it, or with my computer for that matter. I definitely like it better than other's I have used.

It's better than nothing... Afterall, it's fast to download and updates everytime... I manna say it's one hell of a credible av software.

so far on my experience it always block every two weeks worms infiltrating my system so yeah, it's one heck of a free av sys. =D

McAfee anti-virus, and Norton are system hogs, they take up a lot of room, i had McAfee it took almost 50 minutes to do a scan, Have AVG free now and have no problams with it, its a good program.
they might be good but the interface is sooooo not user-friendly! i uninstalled avast after two days of use cos it was extremely annoying

I have McAfee now, and subscription is running out.

I don't mind paying for these programs but if there's free ones out there that will give me just as good protection, I don't want to waste my money.

Are the free firewall and antivirus just as good as payed ones and if so which would you recommentd?

I'm thinking the saying "you get what you pay for", meaning you have to pay for something of quality.

I may be wrong.

I was in the same boat not too long ago, and I researched for a while and found Avast. This program seems to be the highest rated among the free anti-virus programs, and has worked exceptionally well for me.

I had the free AVG free antivirus and it would come up on a regular time to update my virus scan. Now I no longer see the icon on the bottom of my screen and it no longer does the updates. It is still located on my desktop though. I had added what I thought was a free firewall, is that AVGw, that is also on my desktop now. Please help, I'm not young and still trying to learn the right way. What has gone wrong, can anybody help me.

click on the avg thats on your desktop and somewhere in the box that pops up is the firewall for avg you need to re-enable it. something has knocked it out it happens ocassionaly. when you re-enable the firewall it should put the icon back on the taskbar and once the firewall is active again it will do the auto updates
My icon when Black one time..I had uninstall and reinstall it...it has worked fine since then..

It means the FREE license key has expired, now you need to re-registrate for a new license key. Then it'll update regularly. Registration for a new key is also free.

My landlord got a new computer a few months ago, and I've been trying to help her with it. She won't pay for antivirus software (shes on a very limited income), and shes on the net. I'm concerned for the safety of her new computer. Is there a free antivirus program we can download? Or should I save my money and buy something for her from like BestBuy or something? I know that she will get very upset with me if I do buy something, so while she's away for the weekend, I was gonna try to find something that I can download for her. Any suggestion???

Depending what she does with her computer depends on the level of security she needs.if all she does is e-mail and surf then a free version will most likely serve her needs,i have a few friends that use avg free and had no problems
I use AVG, Ad-Aware and Spybot Search and Destroy. It is always good to have a mixture of programs because while none are perfect, you can keep your system clean with a few. The ones I use are all free.

Our entire system changed from Norton's Corp. to AVG Network addition. That alone is over 20,000 computers. I guess all of the "noob" technical staff here decided that better performance took precedence over bloatware.
You'll probably get as many opinions as there are anti-virus programs. There is no "one" anti-virus program that will catch everything. It's just the nature of the beast.
